Chase State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area - located 1.5 miles west of Cottonwood Falls in the center of the scenic Flint Hills region of Kansas. The 109 acre lake was constructed in 1954. The lake and surrounding 383 acre wildlife area are managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks. A great place to fish, camp, hike or view wild prairie flowers.

Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve - The preserve protects a nationally significant example of the once vast tallgrass ecosystem. Of the 400,000 square miles of tallgrass prairie that once covered the North American Continent, less than 4 percent remains, primarily in the Flint Hills of Kansas.
